Characters

With its numerous teams and parade of minor characters, Eyeshield 21 has a massive ensemble cast. So it can be difficult to keep track of every character! This section will attempt to index all of them, major and minor, player and non-player.

This will also be the largest section on the whole site, so I will be adding character and team bios slowly and gradually. So keep checking back!

Also note: until I can figure out how to hide text—especially for developments in the last third of the story—please assume that every page will contain major plot spoilers for the entirety of the series. Thank you for understanding!

Notes About this Section

  • Viz Media's official English translation of the manga made adaptational changes to the original Japanese nicknames, the latter of which are likely more familiar to fans. Most notably, Hiruma's "fucking" (ファッキン) was changed to "damn," and Agon's "trash" (カス) to "loser." I've taken a middle approach and combined both the official nickname translations and the original nicknames together. For example, Hiruma calls Sena "damn pipsqueak" in Viz's version, so I rendered that as "fucking pipsqueak" in Sena's Nicknames section.
  • All player' profiles are grouped on their respective team's page based on their main position, and non-player characters are listed underneath. Minor teams—i.e. those that only appear sparingly or only for their own game—are featured on the Minor Teams page. Minor characters are grouped based on their relevance to the story.
